About Us

The Salvation Army Atlantic Camping operates camping programs across Atlantic Canada and Bermuda, creating welcoming spaces where children and youth can have fun, build friendships, and grow in faith. Scotian Glen Camp in Nova Scotia and Camp Starrigan in Newfoundland host overnight summer camp programs, while day camp programs are also offered in Quebec and in Bermuda. Together, these ministries provide meaningful summer experiences for children and youth from across the region.

Summer Staff Roles

  • Cabin Leader

    Provides supervision, support, and care for campers while actively participating in all aspects of the camp program and helping create a safe, positive cabin experience.

  • Lifeguard

    Oversees the pool and waterfront, ensuring the safety of all participants while supervising activities and maintaining aquatic equipment.

  • Cook

    Prepares and serves nutritious meals according to planned menus while following food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures.

  • Maintenance

    Maintains camp buildings, grounds, and equipment through general repairs, upkeep, landscaping, and other maintenance tasks.

  • Nurse

    Provides initial assessment and first aid for minor injuries and illnesses and supports campers and staff until additional medical care is available when needed.

  • Housekeeping

    Helps keep camp facilities clean, welcoming, and organized by completing a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks.

  • Kitchen Generalists

    Supports meal service and kitchen operations by assisting in the dining room, dish pit, and other areas as needed.

  • Behaviouralist

    Supports campers in building positive relationships, developing confidence, and navigating challenges that may arise during their time at camp.
